WCB Team Member: Nick O’Neill

January 1st, 2006 | By: Nick O'Neill | No Comments »

Nick O’Neill is a long time BootsnAller as well as a football fan. Growing up in North London, he started supporting Arsenal at age 5, spending many cold winter afternoons and mid-week evenings on the Northbank cheering the Gunners and looking out for attacks from Spurs fans.

Playing soccer in high school, Nick was once labeled a ‘vicious little bastard’ by one of his elders. That attitude and talent has carried him far. With 2 left feet and until recently, lousy eyesight, Nick couldn’t hit the side of a barn, but he could kick people.

Moving to the US in 1987 and being starved of the ‘Beautiful Game’, he learned to appreciate the beauty in watching overgrown men in helmets and pads, bashing each other into oblivion, always mind you, re-surfacing once every 4 years for the World Cup.

An eternal critic of the English national team, he is following the Togo team this time around with high hopes they will score.

He will be in Germany with the rest of BootySoccer, blogging and enjoying the thrill of it all.
