Togo’s “Cry Baby” to Stay
In the latest development in the drama that is known as Emmanuel Adebayor, coach Stephan Keshi says the striker will stay on the team for the rest of the African Nations Cup. He also had these less than flattering words to say about Adebayor, who refused to start in Togo’s 2-0 loss to Congo on Saturday:
“He is a cry baby. He should be spear-heading the team like Didier Drogba does with Ivory Coast or Samuel Eto’o does with Cameroon. He should be leading the players along but instead he is dragging the players behind. He is still part of the squad but he has to give me what I want,” said Keshi.
I personally would have given Adebayor the boot. He has already hurt the team with his actions and by keeping his on the squad it gives the impression that he can get away with anything because of his talent. Keshi needs to show his authority here or he might be the one without a job soon if the Hawks tank during the rest of the CAN.
