Togo viewing International Friendlies

March 2nd, 2006 | By: Nick O'Neill | 1 Comment »

Togo is in World Cup Group G along with France, Switzerland and S. Korea. In order for Togo to get to the next round they will either have to draw all 3 games or win 1 and draw 1.

The recent friendlies had the following results:

S.Korea 1 Angola 0
France 1 Slovakia 2
Switzerland 3 Scotland 1

If I were the new Togo coach I would take heart from the fact that France are not a together team. They do however, have great players who can knock things up to another gear if necessary.

S.Korea only managed 1 against Angola, meaning if Togo raised their game, their athletic ability might be able to carry them to victory.

The Swiss were clinical against Scotland and seem organized, something Togo isn’t.

I’m certain of one thing, none of the above mentioned teams are scared of Togo after their performance in the Africans Nations Cup. Of all the teams in the group, they are starting from the lowest point and have the most change to make.

Don’t underestimate how good Angola is, my friend. We only lost by a goal to Korea in the snow!

Best of luck to the Sparrowhawks.
