Togo to play in Malaysia
February 9th, 2006 | By: Nick O'Neill | No Comments »
Togo are likely to play a World Cup warm up game in Malaysia in May. The Malay Mail reports that talks are underway and the game could be played probably in KL.
Togo manager, Stephen Keshi used to play for Malaysian team in the late 1990’s and has connections. The standard of SE Asian soccer is quite low, I know I live in Indonesia. In this part of the world teams use a combination of local players and third string players from Europe, Africa and S.America. Also the discipline is not that good, with the ref getting stoved around by a mob of players on occasion.
Togo vs. Malaysia should be a fair game, with neither threatening to dominate.
