Togo out of World Cup 2006
Togo crashed out of World Cup 2006 Germany, with a 2-0 loss to Switzerland. In a sense Togo already had one foot out of the World Cup already, with a mutinous team refusing to train or play and a coach who was in and out himself.
What positives are there for Togo to look back on? Well they made it into the World Cup and millions saw them play on TV around the world. They scored against S. Korea, an event that must be the pinnacle of Togo football history. Most of the players are unremarkable, but Adebayor gave us an taste of his style of play. He’s already playing for Arsenal.
With African nations such as Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, not to mention Egypt, Tunisian and Morocco, competing for spots, getting to another World Cup will be very tough. With Togo’s lack of football infrastructure its not likely we’ll be seeing them again. Anyway, it was fun to dream for a brief moment that the Sparrow Hawks could take the World by storm.

Hehe. That’s harsh, Toshihiko Atsuyama.
However, I found Adebayor to be unsympathetic: egocentric, childish, arrogant…and at least during this WC, absolutely useless. He still has one game to proof me wrong.

Togo were robbed! They was 100% a penalty! Sad to see them go out.

Toshihiko Atsuyama,
What do you know about the game of football, afterall you are from singapore.
Stop disrespecting your African superiors, you ass kisser singaporean. Do you like the play of your European masters better, I bet you do, you dick.
Togo will play better than you will ever play, at least they reached this far dickhead!

I have seen in several matches the referees are biased towards European teams. The referees are afraid of the big names, the rich and powerful nations. Something must be done to stop it. The referee did not gave Adebayor a clear penalty. Even the four European Television commentators in the channel I was watching described it as a clear penalty. I have seen this happening also with Ivory Coast and Angola. I am not an African. All I want is justice.
The developing world and the poor countries should force FIFA to change rule. There should be a team of three referees who will immediately watch the replay and decide the crucial situations. May be some injustice can be avoided this way.

so sad to see Togo go. i’ve heard about their behind stories. that was really.. .. really heartbreaking. hope Togo do their best in the next, and the final show.
and atsuyama, i think you’d rather go back home and coop yourself up in your own cage. shut up and just watching.

Sukumar: that’s just utter nonsens. As if Switzerland would be a football power house! You could argue this conspiracy theory with Brazil, England, France, Germany and Italy – but Switzerland, for crying out loud. And even with the other nations it’s not true: see Italy 2002, see French goal against Korea, see England at European Championship. Yes, even as a Swiss, I do agree that there could have been no complaints if the Ref would have given this as a penalty. (I found though, that the replays didn’t proof to 100% that there was actual contact though. However, it was veeeery clumsy…)
And arguing the whole thing on an economic basis is even more histerical!
Uuuuuuh, and look at how Australians shout loud about ’soccer’ suddenly. (I’m refering to Lars here!) Most Australians watch their first WC – and just the Australian games. So don’t be too loud about it! Your miserable dream will be over soon – and therewith the whole hype as well.

LOL Lars…
Hey Atsuyama, why don t you try Arakiri and give us a break with your non-sense comments. Togo players were supposed to get paid bonuses for reaching the WC final. That is their rights to manifest against their upper management/state if the country can t keep up promises. People have to make a living as well (I guess you wouldn t like your boss not paying you). I found these Togo players quite generous in their game, and it is just unfortunate they lost versus Korea, in my opinion Togo was better and deserved to win. As for the game versus the Swiss, the Swiss deserved the victory but I believe that the referee quiet favoured the Swiss by denying an obvious PK. And that’s right, before bashing Togo, look after your own team first. I believe African teams are showing way better skills than Asian ones. Keep it humble. To all little Singapore jerks! ;-)

Hey Pierre Louis Lefèvre, are you trying to fake a French person ? If so, avoid auto-translation tools, you’re sentence doesn’t mean anything.
I hope France will win Togo tonight and if we don’t, we just don’t deserve to go further.
Good luck to Togo.(and please no referee mistakes for both teams)

Oh c’mon atsuyama, don’t be so harsh! I know that Togo deserve to not advance due to the reasons you have provided but still, you don’t have any right to represent Singapore in voicing harsh opinion like that. After all, are you yourself really a Singaporean? Bet you’re not! Anyway, I wish good luck for France today in their match against Togo and may Togo lose the match again! I beg you Togolese, please do not enter the 2010 South African World Cup. I don’t like to see your performance! Really! Rather than turning me off watching the “supposedly-of-good-quality” Togo play, it’s better for you ppl to not enter the world cup again at all…

Hey Pierre Louis Lefèvre, is you want to fake a french person don’t use auto translation tools, your sentence doesn’t mean anything.
And “God bless France” is never said in France, we are not used to involve God in our stories whatever they are.
GL to all teams tonight, may the best win.

Hey Haarf,
Don’t answer this low life weasle.
Pierre-Louis Lefèvre and Toshihiko Atsuyama are the same person. He’s trying to be funny and smart, the cunt.
Allez les bleus!

And of course Soo Heun Won is the same faggot atsuyama,
Alessandro buddy, you are right he needs to shove arakiri in his shoving place and that’s up his ***, lol.. the dog eater Jerk!

My turn to comment. Yeah, I’m from Singapore too and proud of it. Atsuyama or whoever the shit he is can just shut his damn mouth up as he has not only screwed up his own name, but also his country as well. I watched all the Togo games and have to say that I’m real proud with the fighting spirit they showed. Every World Cup needs an underdog and I was rooting for the Togo team this time round. I believe if the Singaporean national team shows even 50% of the commitment these guys showed during their first appearance at the World Cup finals, I will be very proud indeed. And to all those faggots out there who are ignorant enough to think that ALL Singaporeans are like this childish asswipe–insult the individual yes, but DON’T BLACKLIST MY COUNTRY, childish fools.

And to Alessandro, Lars and Kira, so you think that since you come from a so-called big country like Australia, Italy or the US or whatever country you are trying to pretend to be a citizen of, you can bad-mouth Singaporeans and our country? ‘Little jerks’ huh? Can’t even play ’soccer’ right hm? Can you even call the Beautiful Game by its REAL name? Please..when you open your mouth in future..try not to make me think too badly of your country as well. It’s people like you for whom the phrase ‘racist’ was coined. Hope you guys don’t start a war in future with your sheer stupidity.

And Lars, don’t put your flag as Singaporean and make my toes laugh. With attitude like this, you won’t even last five minutes in a peace-loving ocuntry like ours.

ooh yea i forgot to mention, get the strand of hair blindfolding you out the way, it seems to be clouding your vision, singapore is not a peace loving country, they are just a bunch of try hard malakas who have bird flu and waana make cheap rip offs of other peoples hard worked ideas

And just which planet did you arrive from? Watch your back that’s all i can say ignorant little microbe, before you get the shit beaten out of you someday. Sad to see someone representing Australia this way.

And who are you to pass judgement about Singapore anyway, peabrain? you have a bone to pick with my country, go play with your toy soldiers and invade Singapore for all i care. just don’t burden everyone with your childish, half-baked and entirely groundless, stereotypical views plucked out of your miserable ass. perhaps you should return to the 18th-century where you really belong.
