Togo hire German coach for World Cup
February 23rd, 2006 | By: Nick O'Neill | No Comments »
The Togolese Football Federation have hired German Otto Pfister as theri national coach for the World Cup. After the firing of former coach Stephen Keshi, Togo players protested. The 67 year old Pfister , who has already coached Ghana and Zaire, will have his work cut out with Togo.
If he has any success in Germany he will offered an extension to his short term contract. Togo have a few foreign based players, plus a lot of homebased athletic talent. Coraling that into something that can score goals is the trick. I think Togo has a chance against S.Korea and a draw against either Swizerland or France could see them go through to the next round.
