The World Football Elo Rating System

The World Football Elo Rating System calculates where each country stands in the world. Results are logged and weighted according to the competition. According to this scale Togo is the lowest ranked team in this years World Cup Finals, coming in with at number 80.

You have to scroll down to the the teams in order. According to this scale the top 5 rated teams are: Brasil, Netherlands, France, England, Czech Rep.

In my opinion the actual top teams going into the World Cup are Brasil, Germany (home advantage will be crucial), Argentina, Czech, Holland. I see one of those ‘big guns’ taking the prize. The rest of them don’t frighten or promise much and this year we have an oddball bunch of teams like Saudi, Togo, Trinidad & Tobago.
