Emmanuel Adebayor : Can he pull Togo into the next round of the World Cup?
There’s an old saying in American football, ‘Its not the X’s and the O’s its the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s.’ Translated, that means its not the tactics, but the players that ultimately will make or break a team. Togo desperately needs a big player to step up in the World Cup.
Togo’s performance in the African Nations Cup was abysmal, losing every game. One player who has the ability to step up for his team is Emmanuel Adebayor. This 21 year old striker has recently transfered to Arsenal from Monaco. Playing his first game on wednesday, he has already scored in the game against Birmingham City.
Adebayor is a tall striker and scored from 2 yards with his head, almost doubling that later on. Hopefully he can do something for Togo in Germany, or at least help Arsenal in season 2006-2007.
