Adebayor’s Punishment is to play for Arsenal

January 13th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »

Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor got into deep doo-doo with his club Monaco for failing to show up for trainings and failing to return to the French side after the winter break. Monaco officials first threatened punishment and then told Adebayor he would not be allowed to train with the team.

Now we receive word that Adebayor’s ultimate punishment will be a move to Arsenal, a form of punishment that players around the world would gladly take.

“We are looking at a striker called Adebayor,” Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger told a news conference on Friday. “I think it could happen later today. He has qualities that we don’t have in the side. He is tall, good in the air and makes good runs.”

No reaction yet from Adebayor who is training for Togo’s upcoming run at the African Nations Cup, but one can’t help but think that he will be slightly pleased with his banishment to one of the top clubs in Europe.
